BELIEVERS AUTHORITY 4

Text: Ephesians 1:16-23

INTRODUCTION
As a believer of God's word, please don't come to a point where God's word is relegated in your life. Many times, we take God's word for granted and the adverse result of this is that it becomes ineffective for us. We must understand that God will never reach anyone outside the context of His word. Please, never joke with God's word.
In respect to the Bible verse, we are going to be looking at some things to take note. This would also serve as a continuation from last week.

TEXT REVIEW
  • A believer ought to always pray the Pauline prayers for the edification of our spirit and for the possession of the Authority we have in Christ Jesus.
  • A believer ought to spend more time praying in the Holy Ghost because praying in the Holy Ghost is likened to praying the Mind of God. Until you begin to pray these prayers, you may not be able to fully exercise the Authority you have in Christ Jesus.
  • Authority is a delegated Power backing the user. That is, the person under an authority does not necessarily need to be in charge, all He needs is the approval of the person in charge and this makes him act under the influence of that person. This means that as believers, we have the Authority of Jesus Christ to act on his behalf on earth. So whenever we speak, it is as though Jesus has spoken - Luke 10:19
  • When you know who you are in Christ, you will be able to exercise the confidence of God's word - 1 Peter 5:8-9
  • There is a stand you have to take in Christ Jesus and by this, the devil will always act under your command.  This is simply because it is as though it was Jesus Christ Himself is the one giving the instructions, hence, the devil will not have any option than to obey - Mark 16:15-16
  • You can only resist the devil by the words of your mouth.
  • Resisting the devil is not necessarily about quoting the scriptures, it is about the understanding of God's word you have that helps you to resist the devil.
  • And when you are resisting the devil, you have to be firm and strong. No one resists the devil by laughter or jokes. It takes a ruggedity and strength to resist the devil.
  • And whenever you dwell on God's word, nothing can catch you unaware because there's completeness in God's word.

SOURCES AND BASICS OF OUR AUTHORITY
Ephesians 2
Our source of Authority is forever in Christ Jesus - Colossians 3:3
If anyone was to look for a believer, the person would find the believer in Christ because the operations of every believer is in Christ Jesus - Colossians 1:15-20
We are not just dead and risen in Christ, we must know that we are also seated with him.

He has given us the Authority to take territories and possess all parts of the world in His name - Mark 16:15. And we must always know that our Authority is planted in Him. All that God has done for us is good and he has finished the work of Grace.

PRAYER
Pray in the Holy Ghost for the manifestation of the Authority you have in Jesus.

Topic: The Wonders of Commitment  Text: Matthew 22:35-40 Commitment means total and absolute surrender once and for all time. The God we serve never does things in half measures. THE NEW BIRTH 3

From the previous weeks on the topic “NEW BIRTH” , we have learnt that there is a new birth in Christ Jesus to all those who will surrender their will to him. Precisely last week, we learnt about “Life and Death” and we were able to establish the fact that there is a Life after we die of physical death. Using the story of Lazarus and the Rich man as a case study, we learnt that the rich man consistently fed his flesh and left the spirit stranded. And Lazarus on the other hand, though physically poor but his spirit was rich. And when the judgement day came, Lazarus entered into Abraham' Bosom while the rich man was left to suffer in pain. Lazarus enjoyed eternal life after death while the rich man had eternal death, which is the second death. Hence, we must ensure our spirit-man is greatly nourished above the flesh because man is a spirit being.
