THE NEW BIRTH 3

From the previous weeks on the topic “NEW BIRTH”, we have learnt that there is a new birth in Christ Jesus to all those who will surrender their will to him. Precisely last week, we learnt about “Life and Death” and we were able to establish the fact that there is a Life after we die of physical death.
Using the story of Lazarus and the Rich man as a case study, we learnt that the rich man consistently fed his flesh and left the spirit stranded. And Lazarus on the other hand, though physically poor but his spirit was rich. And when the judgement day came, Lazarus entered into Abraham' Bosom while the rich man was left to suffer in pain. Lazarus enjoyed eternal life after death while the rich man had eternal death, which is the second death. Hence, we must ensure our spirit-man is greatly nourished above the flesh because man is a spirit being.

For today’s teaching, we will be considering the sub topic: THE NEW CREATURE and our anchor scripture still remains 2 Corinthians 5:17. 
What can A NEW BIRTH be described as?

  • The New Birth is a summary of a New nature, New character, New appearance and a New being.
  • It is the direct operation of the word of God and the Spirit of God upon a man’s life. There is no way a man can be declared born again without having an encounter with the word of God and then the Holy Spirit convicting the person.
  • It is having a change of Spirit and mind set

PROCESS TO ATTAINING THE NEW BIRTH
  • You are to recognize yourself as a sinner, lost in sin and its nature, without the Spirit of God - Romans 6:23. You must come to the knowledge of your sinful nature.
  • Accepting and admitting that Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary and shared His blood to save humanity
  • Return to God, forsake your sin and confess Christ as your Lord and Saviour - Luke 15:18-21, Revelation 3:20
  • Believe from your heart and confess from your mouth that God has forgiven you of your sins and that you are now born again.

As soon as you take the Lordship of Jesus, the Light of God shines and eliminates every ungodly thing hidden in your heart.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Please pray according to the following Bible Scriptures

Romans 10:9-10
9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved
10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

John 1:11-13
11. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13. Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 4:24
 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth
